ATHENS


At …,staat we worked for Diageo. For one of the brands in their portfolio, Gordon’s Gin, we developed the global brand iconography. As Greece was and probably still is their key market, I and my collegue René flew to Athens to present and brief local agencies on the new developed iconography.

When you think of Athens, you think of ancient history, monuments, the Acropolis, holiday and all that good stuff. Well, it wasn’t any of that. The long version: …,staat HQ Amsterdam > cab to Schiphol > plane > taxi > hotel > work on and finish presentation till the sun came up > taxi > 4 hour meeting > taxi > hotel > work on other work for next day in Amsterdam again > eat (and we actually had a couple of hours for this, wow) > hotel > taxi > airport > plane > Schiphol Airport at 7am > taxi > …,staat HQ and then the rest of the day. Good thing was though, all those buildings and transportation were airconditioned, since in was 40°+C.
