Het is zo ver! Handboek Communities, eindelijk in het echt voor iedereen te koop. En bij Managementboek.nl hebben ze er 500 op voorraad en veel daarvan is ook al weer op de post. Goed voor inmiddels positie 8 in de top 10. Hoera!

Wat is beter dan 1 boek? Een heleboel boeken!

Fijn zeg, de vriendelijke postbode brengt net een fikse doos vol boeken. Wat is drukwerk dan toch leuk. Oplage bedoel ik dan. Daar kan geen website tegen op. Grappig eigenlijk dat mensen uit boeken moeten leren over dit onderwerp.

Ja, eindelijk is-ie er dan! Een heuse niet-virtuele versie van het boek. Er gaat toch niets boven de geur van papier en inkt. Wat een leuke rit is dit project, waarin het boek de hoofdrol speelt en waarbij de case ‘Handboek Communities’ zelf een best practice is van de ondertitel van het boek ‘de kracht van sociale netwerken’. Maandag a.s. voor iedereen verkrijgbaar, maar nu al in de top 10 op Managementboek.nl. En het boek is slechts het begin! Dank Erwin voor de leuke rit tot nu toe, en natuurlijk ook Timo!

Handboek Communities op nummer 11!

Handboek Communities, het boek van Erwin Blom, is inmiddels al weer doorgestegen naar nummer 11 op managementboek.nl. En aanstaande maandag, 2 november verschijnt het pas. Samen met Erwin ben ik druk om de content en alles beyond content op alle mogelijke manieren te delen. Zo verschijnt er naast het fysieke boek, ook een gratis pdf-versie maar dan mag je door de advertenties heen ploegen. Interviews die het boek niet hebben gehaald of niet in volledigheid, verschijnen als gratis pdf. De opgenomen video interviews worden ook beschikbaar gemaakt en dat alles komt natuurlijk tezamen op een website, waar het gesprek vervolgd kan worden. Zoals Erwin net twitterde: ‘Het boek is slechts een begin.’

Begin november komt ie uit, Het Handboek Communities / De kracht van social media, een boek waar Erwin Blom aan de hand van eigen ervaringen en die van in totaal meer dan 100 specialisten en ervaringsdeskundigen de do’s en don’ts van social media op een rij zet. Hoe profiteer je van de kracht van je publiek. Hoe haalt een bedrijf meer uit zijn klanten, een vereniging uit zijn leden, een blad uit zijn lezer. Hoe zorg je voor grotere betrokkenheid, hoe krijg je mensen actief. Wat moet je doen en wat moet je laten. Wat zijn motieven voor mensen om actief te worden en waarom zouden ze dat bij jou doen? En natuurlijk ook: welke waarde haal je uit een social media. Direct in de zin van o.a. advertenties of verkoop, of indirect met o.a. afgeleide producten en datamining. Hoe haal je inkomsten uit een blog, een community, Twitter? Binnenkort veel meer hierover, maar ga naar Managementboek.nl voor een preview. Mooi gemaakt door mij. Ennuh … inschrijven mag!

Hurray! Mupps is live!

It took a while, from idea to reality, but finally it’s available for download, the very first edition of Mupps. Mupps is really a fun an great project, where a team of like-minded people collaborated to make something, all in their own key expertise. We’re happy!

Mupps will become a platform where artists can make their own iPhone app for an affordable price. Mupps is about publication, communication and aggregation. Every artist has its own section within Mupps where they can publish news and stories (text, audio, video) and talk with fans (Twitter integration is included!). And Mupps is your ideal band monitor as well by aggregating pictures and videos from around the net (Flickr and YouTube).

Within Mupps it’s easy to switch from artist to artist. That way Mupps will become a growing collection of cool bands and acts. Besides the band info MuppsTalk will supply you with the latest popnews from around the globe.

Mupps believes that mobile media will become the most important publication, communication and sales channel for artists and the like. One on one contact between band and fan.

Kick-off StartHub at Mediapark Jaarcongres

Today was the kick-off of StartHub, a project by Erwin Blom in which I’m also involved. StartHub will follow the Dutch tech starthub scene for a year, eventually leading to amongst others a handbook for and about startups.

StartHub is an initiative by Erwin Blom. It will follow the Dutch tech startup scene for a year, what will result in news, interviews, how-to’s and get-togethers which will lead to a handbook Startups. Of course you will be able to follow this project during its process, since it is still work in progress.

What I like to do when starting designing something new, is directly putting it in motion to see what happens when things come alive. In this case, for StartHub, which is another new project I work on together with Erwin Blom. Nothing in these movies is final, it’s simply investigating possibilities. Obviously, things need to be designed for print as well, but putting it in motion also uncovers some great new possibilities that simply never happen in Illustrator.

So, this is a first test:
