Designing Interactions
Designing Interactions

by Bill Moggridge

In the book Bill Moggridge introduces us to 40 influential designers who have shaped our interaction with technology. The introduction and final chapter combine to describe the approach to designing interactions that has evolved at IDEO. The 800 page book is illustrated with 700 color images. With the book is a DVD of 37 interviews, intercut with examples of interactions and a great supporting website with even more. And the good thing is, when you are open for it, you can also apply the thinking on other fields outside the field of interaction design.

UN Studio Mercedes-Benz Museum Design Evolution
UN Studio Mercedes-Benz Museum Design Evolution

by Bund Deutscher Architekten (BDA)

Got this great little book by my friend Arjan, who works as a senior architect at UNStudio, and has been involved in the realization of this great museum. In this book, the working methodology of UNStudio is demonstrated by help of the spatially and technically extremely demanding project Mercedes-Benz Museum for DaimlerChrysler in Stuttgart. It documents the service capability of architects and architecture.

The art of looking sideways
The art of looking sideways

Alan Fletcher

Just bought this massive book by Alan Fletcher. The Art of Looking Sideways is an absolutely extraordinary and inexhaustible “guide to visual awareness,” a virtually indescribable concoction of anecdotes, quotes, images, and bizarre facts that offers a wonderfully twisted vision of the chaos of modern life. Fletcher is a renowned designer and art director, and the joy of The Art of Looking Sideways lies in its beautiful design. Loosely arranged in 72 chapters with titles like “Colour,” “Noise,” “Chance,” “Camouflage,” and “Handedness,” Fletcher’s book, which he describes as “a journey without a destination,” is “a collection of shards” that captures the sensory overload of a world that simply contains too much information. A great source of inspiration.
