One of the highlights of LIFT was looking at particles at the HLC in Geneva. And doing that together with Andy Mayer, who what I learned while having a fun conversation in the bus, was the founder of Yoomee. So, what is Yoomee?
They’re different to normal web agencies; and specialise in designing and implementing beautiful social platforms that get people all excited, and do a little something (and sometimes a lot) to improve the world.
Yoomee is all about bringing people together on the web through simple, online services with a winning appeal. Typical projects involve finding creative ways of connecting people together online to solve specific real-world problems.
They love doing this with social entrepreneurs, Third Sector organisations, altruistic businesses and generally anybody that shares our passion for making the world a better place – and they’re fortunate enough to work with some of the UK’s smartest minds.
What’s more, they do it using fresh, hot, new techniques and bespoke technologies that keep them at the leading edge. Their closely knit team has years of experience. On top of this, they’re one of the few companies in the UK using a new programming environment called Ruby on Rails. This technology enables them to spend less time on the menial tasks of web development and instead concentrate on building the unique features of social networks.
And the good news is: Yoomee is building the online platform for Project Dreamschool. Joy!
