FROM THE DESK OF MARCEL KAMPMAN. HE DOES A LOT OF STUFF. | CONTACT | +31641395974
Since I’ve been appointed as creative director for Picnic, a lot of people have shared their ideas and plans with me, sent it to me by email, or told me in person. And that’s great! So, let’s make it a bit easier :)
Always wanted to do something at Picnic? Use and abuse me to pitch your ideas to. I am currently working on a page where you can share the ideas you have for Picnic 2010. It can be anything: suggestions for speakers — ideally undiscovered and previous unshared great and captivating stories and personalities, formats for presentations, ideas for workshops; anything.
It is not that we don’t have ideas, on the contrary, we’re already extremely busy with a bunch of great and sometimes even revolutionary stuff. But with this page you have a way of sharing your thoughts, plans and ideas as well, so this edition might even be more you — it’s always more fun when you bring your own stuff to a picnic.
No guarantees beforehand that your input will be used, but if it is any good and might fit within our plans, I will discuss it with the team and might contact you.
This page will go live somewhere this week. Looking forward to hear from you!
Hartelijke groet
Sandra
Gijs van der Togt added these words on feb 23 10 at 12:23 amInternet seems to be the perfect place for advertisers nowadays. Especially influential bloggers are gaining power. While brands are being attracted to these bloggers, they are confronted with new challenges. Objectivity versus a more commercial approach. A debat between bloggers (influentials), brands and advertising-agencies.
Varun Vachhar added these words on feb 23 10 at 2:13 amHave multiple booths…about the same size as one of those portable toilet stall things. Each person sits in one of those booths (with their identities hidden…so no one knows who is taking part in this), which has a speaker and microphone setup but, only one person can talk at a time. Its something like what you did in Mastermundo with the journey and headphones but, with more of a focus on isolation. People give 5 minute talks about a random topic that they get (something relevant to design/ ideas or maybe completely random like ice cream). At the time when one person talks the others are supposed to use a notebook they get to write down or draw an image to show what they feel about the talk.
Then there will be a second phase where everyone will be allowed to talk at the same time so as to have a discussion. Then the entire group will be given one major global problem at a time and asked to come up with what they think will be ideas that might solve this crisis. Again this will be a discussion but, they will be isolated.Lastly, the setup will slightly change so that only one person speaks but, also only one person can listen to it. It will be like a Chinese Whisper game except the first person starts a story, the second one continues it and so on.
The inside of the booths will be different to each other…some very brightly coloured to give happiness while, the others with dark and sad colours.
At, the end of this….everyone shares their identities, the images, writings and stories created in this little experiment.
