FROM THE DESK OF MARCEL KAMPMAN. HE DOES A LOT OF STUFF. | CONTACT | +31641395974
My contribution for the upcoming international edition of Blend. It is based on a beautiful text by Ivo Victoria: “They say sometimes that she has my eyes. I’m proud of that. But of course, I’d rather have hers” that he wrote after visiting a museum with his small daughter Lola.
I made my contribution as a co-production with my three year old daughter Susa, showing her and drawings she made from her world as she sees it after I first tried to think of worlds from her perspective. Resulted in some fun drawing though, but simply didn’t do it. So I asked her to make 7 drawings, of anything she could think of. Couldn’t be better. So great to see her taking it as a deadly serious assignment. And to hear her say what she is actually drawing, saying things you really need big imagination for to find it back in her drawings. Funny thing is, now after a couple of days we looked back at her drawings, and she still exactly knows what she has drawn in detail. Impressive. Titles of the works:
—
A butterfly and a bee under the sun with a little cat and a little sun. With names.
—
Snowflakes and a turtle.
—
Self-portrait as a dancer who has slept very, very well. With earrings.
—
A princess with a cat and a flower.
—
Daddy with glasses and no ears.
—
A little ghost with one hand.
—
Mommy with pink lips and curly hair and a pink dress.
